Why We Do What We Do

  This Venture is dedicated to my dog Sophie (formerly known as Puma). She was featured as “The Pet of The Week” at The North Shore Animal League in June of 2007 . They didn't have a lot of information on her background, but they did say she had been returned twice. She is very fun loving but also very dominant.   After talking with North Shore for a few days, I planned a trip with my older Springer Spainiel,  Bailey  We all met in a small, fenced in play area and it felt so right! We brought Sophie home the same day!

 But she was a lot of work; 

She was barely house trained and she didn't trust anyone. She “smiles” when she is happy and some people are a little off put by it if they don't know her. And she can be very pushy when she wants affection. Bailey patiently showed her how to be part of the pack 

And Sophie became a well adjusted dog. 

Most of the time...

 Another facet of her dominance is object aggression. When she “covets” something she wants, she brings it to her bed and shows a very different side. Her eyes glaze over and the Goat Wolf appears!!!   

 But most of the time she is an amazing dog with endless love and a huge personality   

 For over 15 years she has provided so much more than companionship; She taught me patience, persistence and love. She taught me that mistakes aren't always forever and that having a true friend is priceless. 

 It just made sense to name this sauce after her. It's bold, fiery, a little sweet, and is a great companion in almost every situation.
